Permit-Required Entry vs. Supervisor Training
Entry training is for the people who go inside or watch the door. Supervisor training is for the person who authorizes the permit in the first place.
Permit-Required Entry
For entrants and attendants who execute the entry itself: testing the atmosphere, completing the permit paperwork, monitoring conditions, and following non-entry rescue procedures.

Confined Space Supervisor
For entry supervisors who authorize and cancel entry permits, verify conditions before entry, and take overall responsibility for the entry operation.
- Permit authorization & entry approval

- Emergency response coordination authority
The deciding question: does this person sign off on the entry permit and take responsibility for the entry, or execute the entry once it's authorized? Signing authority requires Supervisor training. Many smaller crews train the same person in both roles.
