Curriculum Review Policy

Who Develops the Curriculum

Course content is developed and maintained by HAZWOPER OSHA Training, LLC's instructional team, made up of full-time occupational safety and health instructors, including OSHA-authorized trainers and credentialed safety professionals who remain active in the field. Basis for Course Content

Each course is built around the applicable OSHA confined space standard(s): 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA for construction, and 29 CFR 1910.146 for general industry. See our Standards Crosswalk for exactly which sections each course maps to. Where general industry best practice extends beyond the letter of the regulation, that is noted as guidance rather than presented as a regulatory requirement.

Review Cadence

Course content is reviewed by the instructional team on an ongoing basis and at minimum annually, with additional review triggered by:

• A change to 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA, 1910.146, or a related OSHA interpretation or enforcement guidance
• A relevant OSHA rulemaking, letter of interpretation, or standard update
• Feedback from students, instructors, or employers identifying an unclear or outdated section
• Renewal of IACET accreditation, which requires periodic review of instructional design and content quality

What Review Covers

A curriculum review checks that regulatory citations are current, that role-based content (entrant, attendant, supervisor, Competent Person) still matches the standard's structure, and that examples and scenarios reflect real jobsite conditions. Material changes are reflected in the course content and, where relevant, in the "Last reviewed" date shown on this site's course and guidance pages.

IACET Accreditation Context

HAZWOPER OSHA Training, LLC is an IACET-accredited provider. IACET accreditation is a provider-level, third-party review of instructional design and quality assurance processes, including how course content is developed and kept current, not a course-by-course government approval.
